Life in Poverty's Easier Said than Done

People do not know pure desperation, sadness, depression, weakness, or hunger until you live a life impoverished. Jenn’s case of poverty is not the worst, but that may be the worst part after hearing the story of her daily life. There are people whose quality of life is worse than Jenn´s, and considering the tasks she endures. Something need to happen because living in poverty is hardly living.

She is always weak; it is not uncommon for her to only eat a piece of bread in a whole day. She starves, every piece of food she eats is cherished. The only steady hunk of food comes annually in October where she has a stash of her kids´ Halloween candy from the last three years. She keeps this in case she has not eaten and is at the brink of fainting. Furthermore, Jenn does not have others privileges like driving with a full tank of gas, buying toilet paper or napkins, or paying rent. Even getting a job is a struggle. A lot of people will look at Jenn and think, why doesn’t she just get a job? Jenn will say “easier said than done”. Jenn has been officially unemployed for three years. She is constantly on the lookout for a job that will provide for her family. Jenn is physically weak, but mentally strong. There are not many people who could endure what she is going through, yet she goes through life while providing and paying for her family.
